Research topics
The members of this group study approximation methods for partial differential equations, in particular finite element, finite difference or finite volume methods. The considered problems are mainly related to electromagnetism and fluid dynamics. In the first case, low frequency problems are faced in more detail, by means of edge finite elements; problems describing electric or magnetic signals arising in physiology (brain, heart) are also considered. In the second case, the water motion in basins with a free boundary and in confined/non-confined aquifers is studied, by using fully conservative numerical schemes on non-structured meshes, in terms of finite differences or finite volumes.
